Each ingredient below has a documented safety profile and biodegrades within standard timeframes under EU Regulation (EC) No 648/2004 on detergents.
Mild abrasive and deodoriser. pH 8.3 in solution. Fully biodegradable. Effective on grease, odours, and light limescale without scratching most surfaces.
Descaler and pH adjuster derived from fermentation of sugar sources. Breaks down limescale deposits quickly. Rated readily biodegradable by OECD 301B test.
5–10% acetic acid solution cuts through mineral deposits and dissolves soap scum. Effective antimicrobial at undiluted concentrations. Not suitable on natural stone.
Alkyl polyglucosides (APG) derived from corn or palm kernel reduce surface tension and lift grease. Readily biodegradable, low aquatic toxicity compared to petrochemical alternatives.
3% solutions disinfect without leaving toxic residues — breaks down into water and oxygen. Effective against mould on grout and bathroom tiles. Light-sensitive; store in opaque bottles.
Natural terpene with documented antimicrobial properties. Used in small concentrations (0.5–2%) in spray cleaners. Partially biodegradable; use sparingly near aquatic drainage.
EU Regulatory Context
Czech households purchasing cleaning products are protected under EU Regulation (EC) No 648/2004, which mandates biodegradability testing for all surfactants in detergents sold within the EU. Products must carry full ingredient disclosure under the INCI labelling standard, and surfactants must pass aerobic biodegradability testing before market entry.
The Czech Environmental Inspection Authority (ČIŽP) enforces these standards domestically. The EU Ecolabel — and its Czech equivalent, Ekologicky šetrný výrobek — provides an additional voluntary certification layer verified by third parties.
